Quartzite Countertops

Quartzite countertops have grown in popularity recently as news of their durability and sleek, modern, and natural veins have circulated the interior design realm. Quartzite slabs are the perfect addition to make your house a home.

It is a natural stone from sandstone pressed in the earth’s crust- similar to marble! Except where marble has a good amount of calcium carbonate,  quartzite does not, giving it its durable edge but still beautiful and modern designs. Because of its natural properties, quartzite is heat resistant and extremely tough. Quartzite is long-lasting, and to keep it looking as great as the day you saw it for the first time at Arista, our experts recommend sealing the material once a year and cleaning it up after any spills.

Quartzites come in a wide variety of colors and patterns. Some move similarly to marble with a whiter base; others can even go in highly desired rare colors like cobalt blue, tangerine orange, daring red, and forest green.

Here at Arista, we have plenty of options for the quartzite countertops of your dreams. We carry the classics, your whites, creams, beiges, grays, and the daring colors of black, red, green, and even purple!

If you’ve been looking to upgrade your kitchen, bathroom, or fireplace, or even if you want an accent piece, the quartzite slabs at Arista Quartz and Natural Stones will be an excellent fit. Our team reviews different quartzite slab colors in this article to help you choose what’s best for your next project.

 FAQs

  • Quartzite is a naturally occurring stone! It is porous (which means it is heat resistant) and it is extremely durable. Quartz is an engineered stone made out of different inks, resins, and binding materials. They are both durable, but quartz is non-porous, so it is not heat resistant, however it is out of the box- so no sealing required! If you would like to learn more about quartz, please click here!

  • It is the industry recommendation that you seal the material at the time of installation and also every year after that! Sealing is really simple, we recommend asking your fabricator/contractor/installer for the sealant they originally used, but sealers can also be found online or in home stores. We at Arista like to say it’s like bleaching your whites, the more often you do it, the longer your white clothes will remain, well white! Same thing is true with sealing your countertop!

  • Soap and Water! Any nonabrasive spray works well with any countertop as well!

  • Yes! Quartzite is an extremely durable natural stone. It is heat resistant, and it is a very hard natural rock. Of course, if you try to break anything, you can probably break it- we recommend to still treat your countertop with care!

  • Long story short- it is a porous material, any material with pores (and sometimes even without) can potentially stain if it is not taken care of! It will not stain as easily as a marble does so you definitely have a lot of leeway in terms of staining. As long as you are sealing your material and cleaning up any spills, you should not have many issues.

  • Yes! Quartzite is a natural stone with pores, therefore it is heat resistant! However, we still recommend the use of heat protection products whenever available!
