Countertop Quality Check
From porcelain to quartzite, Arista Quartz and Natural Stones offers many different material types in our warehouse. We have thousands of options for you and your client to choose from.
Our five main materials are quartz, porcelain, quartzite, marble, and granite. We also offer a variety of other types of stone including soapstone, limestone, sandstone, dolomite, and onyx. Please keep in mind that we are just the stone supplier, we do not have any fabricators or contractors on our team, although we do have a wide network of high-quality fabricators who we are more than happy to connect you with.
Because we are a boutique business that offers a myriad of other perks when you work with us (such as free delivery, a quartz warranty, we hold your materials for free, and have a wide network of connections) we have high standards when it comes to the quality of the stones that we source and provide to you.
If you are a homeowner or this is your first time shopping for stone, you may not know the importance of conducting quality checks. A quality check means that the stone material is inspected to ensure a certain level of quality.
Here at Arista, we source the highest quality material on the market and we quality check accordingly.
There are a few factors that we look at before determining if the material is high enough quality to sell:
We conduct a visual inspection, looking for stains, cracks, blemishes, scratches, etching, and excess resin.
Check the dimensions. The length, width, and thickness should align with the dimensions we requested.
If there are any red flags at this point, we can conduct a coin test where we take a coin and gently brush it along the slab. This will test for the quality of the polish and does not apply to all materials.
While it’s important to conduct quality checks, it is also important to maintain your material once it is installed. Every material requires a different maintenance routine.
Quartz and porcelain are both engineered stones, and neither of them require much maintenance. Both quartz and porcelain are very easy to clean, non-porous and extremely durable.
Quartzite, not to be confused with quartz, is a natural stone along with marble and granite. Quartzite and granite both do require sealant, recommended on an annual basis, while marble is known to be a bit more high maintenance. Although marble can be considered high maintenance compared to other materials, it also has many benefits and is incredibly durable if cared for properly.
